Christmas with Asco
December is one of the most eagerly awaited months of the year, not only because it marks the end of a calendar year, but also because the month is saturated with festivals. Christmas is celebrated by more than a billion people worldwide, through family gatherings, gift exchanges, caroling, and lots of good food.
Asco Motors over the last four years has been making sure that they mark the beginning of the festivity with children from various Homes. What started a few years ago as a small get together has now become an annual event on the business calendar. As part of the corporate social responsibility program, Asco Motors staff and management get involved in making Christmas a special event for over one hundred children from respective Homes.
Children from Loloma Home in Nadi were hosted to an exciting Christmas dinner at the Nadi Showroom in late November. More than thirty children from the Home received gifts and spent the evening celebrating this joyous season. Children from the Labasa Special School were also hosted to a Christmas Lunch. The Organisation also made generous donations to Homes and Labasa Special School.
Last week Friday 7th December, Asco Motors Nabua Showroom was the last stop for celebrations as the company hosted children from Saint Christopher’s Home and Dilkhusha Home to an early Christmas Dinner. A lot of work and effort was put in by Asco Staff and Management to bring lasting smiles to these children. There were showered with gifts, traditional Fijian lovo, face painting, candy floss, popcorn, snow cone, bouncy castle, movie, Santa and loads of games and laughter. The kids made the most of the celebration and participated in all fun games organized for them. The favorite being a dance off to win amazing prizes. Along with the children, the staff of Asco Motors had equal fun and a comfortable air-conditioned setting made things easier for everyone.
The youngest was four month old Baby Jacob from Saint Christopher’s Home who was pampered with gifts. Representatives from both the Homes thanked Asco Motors Management and Staff for their dedication and commitment in making Christmas a special event for them.
Asco Motors Chief Executive Officer, Craig Sims says “this is something we love doing and initiatives as such help bring balance to our lives. We sometimes get so involved in our work that we forget to enjoy moments like this. Having kids over to mark the beginning of the festive season is something we all look forward to. Asco Motors will continue to do this annually and we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and 2019.
