2019 Fiji Sports Awards

ASCO Motors recently sponsored the 2019 Fiji Sports Awards. The Fiji Sports Awards recognises the achievements of our sportsmen and sportswomen and the dedication and support of those behind the athletes: coaches, volunteers, technical officials and sports federations.  It is a joint event of the pinnacle national sporting organisations in Fiji, namely Fiji National Sports Commission (FNSC), Fiji Sports Council (FSC), and the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC).

The Fiji Sports Awards is an opportunity for the sporting and wider community to celebrate the sporting excellence and successes of our sportsmen and women in Fiji. Asco Motors sponsored the category Team of the Year Award and the nominees were:

• Athletics Fiji: Fiji Women’s 4x100m Pacific Games Relay Team
• Badminton Fiji: Badminton Pacific Games Team
• Basketball Fiji: Basketball Women’s Pacific Games Team
• Fiji Judo: Judo Women’s Team, Pacific Games
• Fiji National Rugby League: Vodafone Fiji Bati Team
• Fiji Rugby Union: Fiji Airways Men’s Sevens Team
• Special Olympics: Women’s 5 A-Side Football Team
• Fiji Swimming: Swimming Pacific Games Team
• Fiji Table Tennis: Fiji Table Tennis Women’s Team
• Asia Pacific Taekwondo Federation: Nausori Taekwondo Club
• Weightlifting Fiji: Fiji Youth & Junior Oceania & Commonwealth Youth and Junior Team

A nominee’s presentation cocktail event took place on Friday 7 February 2020 to acknowledge all nominees and sponsors for the 11 Categories.

The 2019 Fiji Sports Awards was held at the newly renovated Fiji Sports Council’s Vodafone Arena on Saturday 15 February, 2020.
