Asco Foundation Donates 4×4 Hilux to Diabetes Fiji to Boost Community Health Efforts

In a continued effort to support local health initiatives, Asco Foundation has donated a 4×4 Hilux vehicle to Diabetes Fiji, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing community health and well-being. This contribution is part of the company’s broader mission to partner with organisations tackling significant health challenges, including the rising issue of diabetes. 

Diabetes Fiji has long been at the forefront of raising awareness and providing resources for individuals affected by diabetes, particularly Type 2 Diabetes. With the condition becoming increasingly prevalent, the organisations role in educating the public and improving access to healthcare has never been more critical. The newly donated Hilux vehicle will enable the organisation to extend its reach and ensure that essential health services and education are delivered to a wider audience, especially in underserved areas. 

Speaking on the donation, Ronald Kumar, Trustee of the Asco Foundation and CEO, highlighted the broader impact of the initiative. “This is more than just a vehicle donation; it represents our deepened commitment to the health and well-being of our community. Diabetes Fiji’s work is invaluable, and we are honoured to contribute to their efforts in making health services more accessible. This vehicle will empower them to reach more people, conduct screenings, and educate communities about diabetes management.” 

The versatile 4×4 Hilux is designed to navigate the diverse terrains of Fiji, ensuring Diabetes Fiji can access both rural and urban populations. This mobility is essential in reaching communities that may face barriers to healthcare access. With this new resource, Diabetes Fiji will be better equipped to host community workshops, health fairs, and outreach programs critical to fighting the diabetes epidemic. 

Diabetes Fiji’s board chair, Taarvish Akbhar, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation. “We are immensely grateful to Asco Motors for this generous gift. The vehicle will be crucial in extending our services to those in need, helping us fulfil our mission of educating and supporting individuals affected by diabetes, ultimately improving many lives.”
